Mother’s Day Décor Gifts

Some moms are décor addicts, the kind who secretly sneak off to the “grocery store” to come home with bags from Bombay, Ikea or Bouclair. Despite their secret love for stylish home accents, these ladies are decorista’s through and through, and we love them for it!

When it comes down to it, a home never stops evolving so a decor piece for a decor addict may be the perfect gift. Fabulous Finds: an oriental accent piece that neatly adorns a living space or a thickly woven rug that combines functionality with unprecedented beauty.  Whatever it may be, choose a gift that celebrates mom, because she deserves the praise!

To help in your quest, here are some pretty little things that tickled our decor fancy.

Preparing for the storm ahead

Take note to this image I snapped during my early morning trek with my dog.
If a 10 foot Santa doesn’t say it, I will -my street has officially lit up with Christmas cheer! Most look forward to this all season long – including myself – albeit I’m not sure how I feel about a 10 foot Santa waving to me outside my window, but, regardless, the cheer may be here but winter is just around the corner. To prepare, we suggest pairing functional mats with season doormats.

Sweep Up the Holidays
Let visitor’s know that you are in the festive spirit with these holiday mats. With the bold red and green, it will definitely make a statement.

Bring on the Unexpected
In our household, we always have unplanned visits from family and friends during the holidays. Here are some simple solutions that will bring the home together for the expected and unexpected.

Multy Home’s two-toned hallway runner will eliminate scuff marks and dirt from getting on your floors. Find a high-traffic area to use this functional mat.

Our new Hudson mat has a durable top surface that is ideal for scraping off dirt from underfoot. Put in the front or back entrance ways.

Create a nook that has your guests wanting to take a load off. They may not stay long, or are longer than expected, but at least your rooms are set with dark colours that are in line with winter colour trends.

Embrace Your Dark Side This Halloween

Deceptively Divine!
This Halloween, gather up some candy and celebrate change with decorative nods to colors in ebony, charcoal and grey.  This palette will surely stir up some design drama by celebrating the festive spirit with unconventional seasonal colors.

Bold Welcomes
Trick-or-Treating can exhaust most; however, bringing cheer to the candy hunters can be easy with these different designs. Welcome them with a doormat that greets your guests. The children might not notice the entranceway, but their parent’s will.

Which mat’s for you? Choose below.

Neutralized Beauty
Harvest inspired colors not your thing? That’s fine. Personalize a room with a neutral palette in beige and taupe. Minimal designs are perfect for those who want pieces that can easily transition from season to season. These plush mats are sure to set the festive mood for all the upcoming celebrations!

What Garden Type Are You?

Feeling saddened by the cold weather creeping in? Take heart: anyone can enjoy the summer bliss despite the lower than normal temperatures. We recommend these different garden types to fully embrace your outdoor love.

Let the Zen In
The philosophy behind this garden resides wholeheartedly in finding peace in nature. To fully embrace the amity vibes, plant large evergreens and shrubs. These trees will remain green all winter long, so you can enjoy the blissful beauty and embrace your outdoor love. Add Multy Home’s envirotile™ as the floor base and accent cushions in red to finish the look.

Rustic Haven
Who doesn’t love the country? Especially when it’s in your backyard! Overly embellished flowers and trees are the staple for any country lover. Tousled bushes and over the top floral beds will also help bring in the desired rustic appeal.

A Regal Resort
Imperialism might be an understatement for this colonized outdoor space. It's English chic meets outlandish color creating a unique blend that meshes oh so perfectly. With the city line view and strategically placed accessories, William and Kate might have to make a pit-stop at this household.

Walk This Way
Walkways can look boring. Try outlining it with shrubbery; to really push the limits add Multy Home’s envirotile™ in Terra Cotta. For even more luxury plant some flowers and herbs.

Embrace Fall ... Outdoors

Today marks the first day of fall. This may depress some, but most should find happiness in knowing that Halloween creeps a little closer. Yes. Exciting! We suggest decorating the outdoors for the new season by favoring a colorful flare in orange, red, green and yellow. Here are some inspiring outdoor looks that will sure to have you carving pumpkins in the yard.

This elegantly placed outdoor rug structures the walkway that leads to the overly embellished garden. The orange lanterns add color to finish the look.
We love this look. Why? It’s simply elegant. Our eco-friendly envirotile™ (in flat profile) creates a minimalist design; while the yellow throw cushions and maroon planter are a perfect combination for this condo balcony.
Until there’s snow on the ground we say, ‘it’s never too late for outdoor dining!” The rug’s rustic green forms a country feel that contrasts the traditional bistro set.
Multy Home’s Easy Tile™ utility flooring adds a textured look to the traditional white picket porch; the dining set modernizes it.
This lavish look provides a homey feel with its plush cushions and soft rug underfoot. We suggest furthering the experience with hot chocolate and a scented candle to fully embrace the autumn weather.

Decorating Tips – 5 Ways to Welcome in Autumn

1.  Fawn Foliage
Accent leaves are a great way to embrace the season ... indoors. This chocolate taupe mat compliments the oak wood cabinets, while making it an inviting place to cook.

2.  Harvest Haven
Pumpkins, squash and all things orange bring warmth and fun to any room.

3.  Flower-Power
We often see flowers in spring, but try accenting a room with a yellow floral print, contrasted by a dark color. The distinction will compliment a room, while creating a modern look!

4.  Heavenly Red
Sure, Christmas is only four months away but let's start the holiday season early. Add a deep red colored entrance mat to the front door and greet guests with chic sophistication.

5.  Horizontal Stripes
Having long narrow hallways can make it difficult to decorate. Try mats that have horizontal stripes. The color variety adds a splash of fun while the bold stripes allude to a larger space.
